We provide the practical training and resources you need on grief, loss, and resilience.
Grief Solutions
Founded in 2006 by Joanne Steen, Grief Solutions has worked with more than forty diverse organizations, including the U.S. Department of Defense, the Canadian Armed Forces, and a host of government, corporate, and nonprofit organizations. Initially created to provide customized training for military casualty assistance personnel, Grief Solutions expanded its focus beyond the military, as the same needs for working with grief exist in the civilian sector.
Grief Solutions is not a grief counseling organization. We are a training and education company that teaches you the best ways to work with people who are caught up in grief. And we author informative books on grief for Gold Star families.
If you’re like most people, you haven’t given much thought to grief or its lingering effects. It is a subject that doesn’t come up too often. But it’s important for you to know about it, because the impact of grief on the people you work with can hamper their ability to take in the support and services you provide them.
Grief may:
- Compromise a person’s ability to understand you
- Handicap decision making
- Impede necessary follow-ups on his or her part
We deliver customized training to help you grow in confidence and skill for working with those who have lost someone close—an area with little room for error.
“Thank you for the best balance of professionalism, compassion, and humor in approaching this topic.”
